What is The Carma Project?
The Carma Project assists low-income families in obtaining a reliable vehicle.
How Does it Work?
First, individuals needing a vehicle should obtain, complete and mail the vehicle application form (coming soon). Second, The Carma Project committee screens the applications for eligibility. Third, the accepted applicant is matched with an appropriate vehicle as soon as possible. Lastly, the vehicle becomes the property of the applicant after payment of taxes, transfer fee, small administrative fee and license plates. The applicant assumes all responsibility for insurance and any other costs for the vehicle.
Who Is Eligible?
Applicants must be job hunting, employed, or attending school and you can't currently have a functioning vehicle. You also need to be at least 19 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and have funds to register vehicle (sales tax, license plate renewal, transfer title fee, and any administrative fee).
Can I donate a vehicle, service, product or funds to The Carma Project?
